Travel to the East Coast of America
♫ Wednesday, May 4th, 2011We’ve all heard of Virginia Beach, Cape Cod, Newport, and Rhode Island. What we haven’t heard of are the several under-appreciated family-friendly travel destinations that lie in the East Coast of America. Their lack of fame has one great advantage and that is – no crowds. This makes them perfect for city-dwellers seeking some peace, quiet and relaxation. Without further ado, here are some of them:
1. Delaware: Conveniently located close to Washington, DC, Delaware’s Rehoboth Beach is the perfect heaven along the overpopulated Eastern Seaboard. Here, you can expect a historic mile-long boardwalk lined with restaurants, stores, galleries and museums. Be sure to try the mouth-watering Stromboli over here. For families with kids, Funland may be a worth visit. There are cheap tickets for admission and fun thrill rides.
2. South Carolina: You can save on cheap tickets to go to South Carolina. It is another wonderful East Coast destination. Check out the natural scenery along with the 130-mile away Cherokee Foothills Scenic Highway, an ideal road trip for your family. Admire the grand Blue Ridge Mountains along the roadway.
3. Florida: If you’re tired of the same old crowd, don’t flock to Disneyland, Sea World or Universal Studios. Instead, head to Key West for the Mallory Square Sunset Celebration, an all-out party, which celebrates the gorgeous sunset.
4. Virginia: Natural splendor abounds in the East Coast. In particular, the 34-mile Virginia Creeper National Recreation Trail attracts nature lovers with its spellbinding sights. Here, you can walk, hike, bird watch, bike and even try horseback riding.
